# Aitomatic — DanaOS

DanaOS is an operating system, not a model and not a chatbot layer. It runs AI
agents that read domain knowledge under authority, propose actions, have those
actions verified against an ontology and policy, and write only verified
knowledge back — so the system gets deeper on every run and none of the
knowledge leaves the customer's boundary. The core idea is that 80% of the
world's industrial data is private and air-gapped; the platform is built to make
that private data a compounding moat rather than a blocker.

## What it is

- **Domain-native.** Each domain (semiconductor, building/energy, maritime, heavy
  industry) gets a Sector Ontology — a structured, executable representation of
  that domain's expertise that agents reason over.
- **Neurosymbolic.** Combines neural flexibility (generalize, handle natural
  language) with symbolic precision (deterministic, auditable, policy-constrained).
  A "Cognitive Ontology" encodes human judgment as knowledge that acts, not a
  document to retrieve.
- **Sovereign / air-gapped.** Runs entirely on-prem or in a customer-controlled
  boundary. Identity, authorization, and governance persist when the WAN is down.

- **Self-improving.** Every verified run writes curated knowledge back into the
  substrate; the knowledge base grows each run.
- **Governed.** Agents propose; a governance peer (the Dana Ontologist) verifies
  against ontology + policy before any write commits. Recommend-band actions are
  held at a seam for operator approval. Quorum-based decisions.

## Architecture (three parts, cleanly separated)

1. **Sector Ontology** — domain knowledge graph; the deterministic spine.
2. **Agents** — Small Specialist Agents (SSAs) that reason over the scoped
   subgraph using a See → Think → Act → Reflect loop.
3. **Governance substrate** — verifies, gates, and commits every write; the
   source of truth that persists and compounds.

Retrieval uses CORRAL (not RAG): governed reads scoped to a permissioned view of
the ontology, not unfiltered vector search.

## Results (selected)

- Semiconductor: 2,400 equipment defects classified per shift at 94% accuracy;
  root-cause analysis in 20 minutes vs. 3 days.
- Complex industrial tasks: >90% accuracy with domain-aware neurosymbolic agents.
- In production: one of the world's largest industrial operators runs DanaOS
  across building and process operations at thousands of sites.
